On Saturday August 13th, we decided to turn our lil' garage into it's own small version of Walmart (except without the doddering greeters). We did really well. In fact, we began wondering why we didn't think of this sooner? At first we were doubtful that anyone would buy something we'd just as soon throw into a bonfire. But now we're hooked. Bring on the doddering greeters!
Saturday morning 6am. This lil' trooper had already helped me hang up the signs out on the road. Now she's ready to take your money. She had no problem in this capacity.
Joining us were Christyn and Kim. (w/ Vanessa). They had some items they wanted to sell so we invited them to join our lil' Mall. These three all worked together at Jamie's Hallmark and you could certainly tell. At 6am they put on their game faces and went into top notch sales-mode. It was astounding to watch. I felt a compelling urge to tip them..
Noe took this unusual picture of she and I. I'm holding my stainless steel coffee silo. That's the morning sky behind us.
The suns coming up. After an initial rush of customers, Noe takes a picture of us. From left is Caleb and Christyn (they're married), Kim, (She's not married) and Vanessa and me (married with children). That's Christyn's Hallmark ornament display behind us. If you closed your eyes, you could swear you were in a Hallmark store. (Er, a Hallmark store with barking dogs across the street..)
A few customers check out the wares. Doesn't look like much at this angle, but we'd already sold quite a bit by the time this picture was taken.
Here's a view from the back as my wife straightens up the merchandise. We had clothes, shoes, glasses and videos. Vanessa also had lots of Precious Moments figurines, too. IDEA FOR NEXT GARAGE SALE: Pony rides for the kids!
And behold, the four Hallmark Alumni of the Apocalypse! Another Hallmark alum stops by to check out the sale. That's CeCe in the middle. (CeCe's name means "yes yes" in spanish).

Foom! Garage sale is over! Everybody pitched in and cleaned up and went home. Then Devin and his friend Warren had ample room to perform astounding gravity-defying feats. THE END!
